So the potential for good news involved selling my parents house. It's been on the market for a couple of months and we got it under contract last week. They did the inspection on Thursday and Friday morning our realtor received an email saying the buyer was cancelling the contract based on the results of the inspection. It was quite the bummer. No, we don't know the specifics about what the inspection might have turned up. However, there was a letter left by the inspector with contact info so we can find out. So that's what I'll be doing tomorrow - calling to see if there really is a major problem, or if the buyer just used the inspection as a way out after reconsidering everything.
In the mean time, if anyone knows someone looking to buy a house .... :o)
